Dr Anuschka Coovadia

Anuschka is a medical doctor with a Masters’ in Health Economics and Actuarial Training. She has extensive experience in the healthcare sector both in South Africa and globally. She led the Healthcare practice at KPMG for over 5 years, across Africa. Her experience also includes being an advisor to the Global Universal Health Coverage task team at KPMG; the clinical governance advisor to Momentum Health and an independent advisor to the International Finance Corporation.

Anuschka sits on multiple boards, including Dischem, Caprisa, Dawi Clinics (Egypt), Kendra Business Forum and Africa Health Federation.

She has led market access studies, strategies, evaluation projects and updates on health system trends for leading global and local healthcare organizations such as the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Gates Foundation, the Aga Khan Hospital and University Group, the Presidency of the Bahamas, the Board of Health Care Funders, the Office of Health Standards Compliance, the National and Provincial Department of Health, the South African National AIDS Council, the South African Medical Association (SAMA); the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA), the South African Dental Association (SADA); and many local medical schemes, pathology laboratories and hospital groups

Farzanah is a successful and dynamic businesswoman with over 20 years of specialised strategy, business optimisation, governance, risk, internal auditing, organisational development, stakeholder relations, leadership coaching and business/personal profiling expertise.  She is a qualified chartered accountant, and she is passionate about using her in-depth business and human capital experience to enable and support organisations, young talent and leaders to achieve their personal, business and professional goals.

She has been providing services for both the private sector and government, locally and internationally and has worked with leaders in industries such as healthcare, education, mining, treasury, banking, agriculture, manufacturing, aviation, tourism, and retail. In addition, she has strong communication, marketing, design, branding and publishing experience and oversaw strategic events and publications in healthcare, education, governance, and leadership.

She is a non-executive director of Tsogo Sun Gaming Limited and was previously a non-executive director of Comair Limited. She was also a Board member and Director at KPMG for over 10 years and played a key role in supporting KPMG’s turnaround strategy. Farzanah was also previously the National President of the Businesswomen’s Association of South Africa (BWA).

She has led large scale strategy related projects, engaged with key leaders in South Africa and internationally and worked with large corporates on their business optimisation, leadership, transformation, diversity, and inclusion plans. She is a sought-after speaker and has also facilitated several economic and leadership roundtable discussions/events with business, government, and civil society.

Aarti Dheda:

Aarti has over 25 years of cross-industry business advisory experience including at an Executive level within the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector Manufacturing, Healthcare, Non-Government Organisations (NGO’s) as well as multinationals, where she chaired and had the privilege of being a part of many Leadership Groups.

Her passion and depth of experience lies in supporting business transformation, strategic planning and implementation, leadership development, governance and executive committee support, marketing as well as supply chain management, in particular procurement.

She has held a number of Executive and non-executive board positions. She is a member of both the Institute of Directors (London) and The Board Room Africa. She has worked internationally in 20+ countries, spanning The United States, Europe, Asia, Africa, South America and Middle East. She was based in London for 12 years, as a Global Director, Supply Chain, at the head office of Unilever.

She has completed the Executive Finance course at the London School of Economics in 2019. In addition she is a companion member of The Institute of Customer Service (London), as well as Gartner (USA) and other external bodies. She has co-authored and taught a case study at Harvard University in Boston on customer service and its impact on business transformation.

She was recognised by Worldwide Who’s Who for her many contributions to Supply Chain and Business Transformation.

Arseyah Kadwa
Usizo - Legal Services Leader

Arseyah is qualified, experienced highly regarded attorney with an Advanced Diploma in Human Resources Management and a post graduate diploma in Corporate Law, amongst other qualifications.

She has over 26 years of extensive legal experience in senior leadership roles, and presently practices in the areas of Employment and Labour Law, Contract and Commercial law, Civil Litigation and Administrative and Procurement law.

She is also a qualified Arbitrator, Conciliator, and Accredited Mediator. She was appointed to the Education Labour Relations Council for a number of years where she acted as arbitrator and conciliator on labour law disputes.

Arseyah has acted for, appeared and successfully represented clients from both the public service and private sector, in the Labour Court, CCMA and at various Bargaining Councils.
