These problems started before the Covid-19 pandemic and have been amplified by the effects of the outbreak, the restrictions on businesses and the ensuing lock-downs. The overall Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is expected to decline by 5 – 8%, over the period, and recovery is expected to take the country up to 5 years (UNDP).
